The rules are already sketched out and the three parties envolved (Archeologists, German Mercenaries and Cultists) are currently being fleshed-out.

I´ll update this project later on, but it all involves a lost Pacific Island, a Golden Idol and a Giant Gorilla. What could possibly be wrong? Maybe some zombies and ninjas missing, but we can probably solve that :)

I took some atmospheric photos to set the mood for the game. Hopefully all stars will be aligned so that we can actually play this later on this month.

Pictures follow, depicting a previously failed expedition of the Imperial German Army to aforementioned Island:

Nice Monkey...

Gorilla wins! I've even drawn up a small Allied Intelligence report meant to introduce my force (the "fluff" in GW terms).

Here it is:
"Situation Report:

This is what we learned thus far:

The Solamun Virus had been isolated by the Germans as early as 1940 but deemed too toxic to be used as an effective weapon.
Subjects died only to reanimate with no life signs, coupled with inhuman strength and a supernatural resistance to bodily harm.
Only complete removal of the brain was observed to be completely effective in permanently neutralizing those afflicted with the virus.
Subjects, upon reanimation, seemed to be driven solely by the instinct of feeding on the living and were completely uncontrollable. The virus was dismissed as a useful weapon.

When the tide of the war began to shift, after Stalingrad, interest in the Solamun´s uses in warfare re-surfaced. Several competing science teams were given funds to investigate a way to control the reanimated.

Oberst Hyeronimus von Toth and his team had a novel approach, and were scoffed at by their peers. They turned to Occult tomes and remote digging sites.

We have evidence that has lead us to believe that Toth as met with partial (or possibly complete) success. A recent commando raid on his lab (that we at the time believed to be a site for developing biological weapons) met heavy resistance from a small infantry force that although unarmed "simply would not die". We have strong reasons to believe that those were Solamun afflicted soldiers. We are to refrain from the use of the word "zombie" lest we impact morale too severely.

Toth was spotted never letting go of a briefcase and the Solamun afflicted troops seemed to be under his control. We suffered heavy casualties in the raid.

All we have learned comes from a member of Toth´s team captured in the aforementioned commando raid. He claims Toth is mad and operates completely outside of the control of the regime. He fashions himself a god. He is building an army out of the "afflicted" and the key to their control is an artifact in the briefcase, but the captured team member claims no one knows what it is - but it never leaves the briefcase Toth always carries.

It is imperative that Toth be stopped at all costs. It's more or less an even mix.

When Battlefront moved to a new site, they set me up with my very own gallery, but a couple of comics got lost in the process :(

The one I most get asked about is "The-Black-Knight-one".
Also known as "The-one-with-Meninobesta" (who is facing the Black Knight on this strip).
Also known to my PC as "strip 21".

Well - I of course have the originals, plus some sketches. I mean, er..., cya!
Torradastorradashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942510528292549497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22649919.post-1152520887277490092006-07-10T09:32:00.000+01:002008-01-15T16:06:42.223+00:00Scared GhoulLosely based on a Oil on canvas I have hanging on the wall, that I did on my teens.

Still playing with colours and materials :)

More to come next week,

Torradastorradashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942510528292549497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22649919.post-1152519381353355092006-07-10T09:12:00.000+01:002006-07-10T09:16:21.363+01:00ProfileWell, Monday will be "official update day" for some time now - this because I can only find time to do some drawing on Sunday...

This is just an experiment of layering different materials and colours.

One more to come today.

Cheers,
Torradastorradashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942510528292549497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22649919.post-1151926434040796522006-07-03T12:27:00.000+01:002006-07-03T12:33:54.050+01:00Never trust a woman with bat wings and a big sword.Don´t say you haven´t been warned :D

More to come.torradashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942510528292549497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22649919.post-1151924032579607822006-07-03T11:50:00.000+01:002006-07-03T11:53:52.590+01:00"Comics" Style"! :)
Finally, some time spent with my new pen tablet, which I have not fully enjoyed for some weeks now.

I´m still experimenting, and I went "Comics-style" on this one.

More to come from this latest session.

Cheers,
Torradastorradashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942510528292549497noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22649919.post-1150155378485699902006-06-13T00:20:00.000+01:002006-06-13T00:40:44.406+01:00First delvings with my new WACOM pen tabletI´ve spent the last few hours getting the "hang" of it - after about 1 hour installing Bluetooth Drivers, Wacom Drivers, and Corel Software.
The pen is quite intuitive, and I managed to get some presentable drawings done pretty quick :)
I produced some test pieces - but wasn´t quite happy with some colours I did, so I´ll post a black & white drawing I did to test the precision of the Wacom Graphire. I was quite happy with the result :) I can identify my free-hand technique much better than with the ones I did previously with the mouse... of course. :)

I do Miniature Wargaming, and for inspiration I had some 15mm Teppô (that´s rifle) Ashigaru (that´s the lowest ranks of Samurai armies in the "Sengoku Jidai Period" - AKA "The Warring States Period" - Circa 1400´s). Follow the links if you´re in to that sort of thing ;).
So it´s a Teppô Ashigaru -but with a twist - I gave him a futuristic sci-fi rifle :D.
The symbols on his banner mark him as a member of the Takeda Clan. Click the picture to get a full-resolution version. Blogspot´s compression blurs it up more than a little.

I can´t begin to say how lucky I am that I am now a proud owner of this pen tablet. I feel like a kid drawing in the math class all over again! :Dtorradashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942510528292549497noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22649919.post-1150112573284089952006-06-12T12:35:00.000+01:002006-06-12T12:42:53.296+01:00My friends pitched in......at my birthday and got me a beautiful 2000dpi, 512 pressure lvl sensitive, A5 WACOM Graphire4 Bluetooth... :D

I´m beyond myself with happiness :D

I have to overcome a small hurdle though - gotta buy me a USB->Bluetooth dongle today, and I hope to be "at it" tonight.
